Terms & Conditions

In yoga we should aspire to practising ahiṁsa – nonviolence. Patañjali tells us that ahiṁsa comes in many forms. For instance, truthfulness (satya), and not stealing (asteya). The point of this section of my – that is Michael Wegerer’s – website is to outline the ways that I try to apply the concept of ahiṁsa in my relationship with you.

Fitness, Health & Safety Policy

By enrolling on my courses, attending my classes and or practising yoga at home (or elsewhere) under my guidance, you agree to take responsibility for your own health and well being. You must ensure that when you practise, the yoga posture, idea and or technique is / are at all time agreeable and comfortable for you. Practising yoga should not cause you discomfort, pain, agitation etc in the body, breath or mind. Please stop if you discover that the yoga you are practising is not agreeable and comfortable. This is your responsibility. I make the presumption that you are at all times sufficiently fit and healthy to take-up and practise yoga.

I will not ask you to provide me with information about any health issue you might have. That is a matter between you and your doctor. If you volunteer such information I will treat that as strictly confidential – see privacy policy below.

aIf there is any doubt about your physical and/or mental health, then please consult your doctor regarding the suitability of studying and practising yoga.

It’s important to know that you do not have to practise anything I suggest for classes, courses and home practice. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, it is your responsibility to stop and look after yourself. As I mentioned earlier, yoga is, in part, about not hurting others or yourself or allowing others or yourself to be hurt (ahiṁsa)

I am not holding myself out to be a yoga therapist and do not offer yoga therapy. However, I may suggest modifications to the application of yoga from time to time. If, in my opinion, I do not think you should be practising an aspect of yoga, then I will say so and ask that you act accordingly and responsibly.

You must be aged 18 and above before enrolling in classes, courses or home practice.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

You may receive a full refund if you cancel by email to yoga.gsy@gmail.com your registration for classes, courses and home practices 10 days or more before they start. No refund will be given after you have been informed that the course is proceeding because you have taken a place that enables the course or class to proceed or that could have been purchased by another student. Full or partial refund may be given if your place is taken up by another paying individual.
